Domestic sales of white goods at the outgoing end have resumed month by month, and export sales are better than domestic sales. Due to the strong installation attributes of white goods products, they were significantly affected by the epidemic. Shipments were hit hard in the first quarter, and then gradually recovered as the impact of the epidemic weakened. According to industry online data, the total sales of air conditioners, refrigerators, and washing machines from January to July 2020 were 90,45.70, 4,467, and 31.342 million units, representing a decline of 12.2%, 1.7%, and 14.0%. According to monthly data, the year-on-year growth rate of air-conditioning and refrigerator internal sales has maintained a relatively high growth rate from May to positive. In July, the year-on-year growth rate was 11.1% and 10.8%. Washing machine shipments are also close to the same period last year. The overall performance of external sales and shipments was better than that of domestic sales. In the early stage of the domestic epidemic, due to the shutdown of domestic factories, the export volume fell more. As domestic factories gradually resumed work and the outbreak of overseas epidemics caused factory shutdowns, some overseas orders were transferred to China. Electricity export is relatively less affected by the epidemic. In terms of categories, due to the impact of the overseas epidemic, the demand for stored food has increased, and the export of refrigerators has performed well. Exports in July increased by 29.8% year-on-year, while washing machines fell by 20.6%.
The online performance of white goods retail end is better than offline. From the perspective of retail sales, offline sales of white wires are significantly affected by the epidemic. According to data from Ovi Cloud, in 2020, offline retail sales of W1-W37 air conditioners, refrigerators, and washing machines will fall by 35.97%, 23.29%, and 18.6%, respectively. Cumulative retail sales are lower than the same period last year, but the decline has gradually narrowed. Online performance is better than offline. Starting from the 18th week, except for individual weekly sales that were affected by the “618” promotion, sales fell year-on-year, other weekly sales improved significantly year-on-year. The cumulative online retail sales of air conditioners, refrigerators, and washing machines changed -5.79%, +8.75%, and +15.92% respectively.
